When Clayton reached out regarding capturing his proposal to his longtime girlfriend (they met in High School!) he had already an exact plan in mind on how to pull this off: they were going to visit his girlfriend’s family here in Virginia, and scheduled an extended family photography session with her brother and his family.
Clayton’s idea was to have several ‘stations’ with large letters leading up to the big moment. The stations were “It” “All” “Started” “Here” – meaning as they met and started their relationship here in Virginia. The final one was ‘Merry Me’. Unfortunately the wind was pretty strong that day and blew most of the flower petals away, but I believe it didn’t make the moment any less special.
Leading up to the “Merry Me” we took pictures of the whole group including individual pictures of the kids as well. While at first the younger ones were actually not as excited with the whole idea and the short walk, it quickly turned into fun for them as well as they ‘found’ the letters and were trying to guess what they could mean 🙂
After the proposal we took a few ‘just engaged’ portraits of Sara and Clayton and I must say that this couldn’t have been planned any better!
Wishing you both lots of happiness Sara and Clayton!
