Ashley & Jon – A Persimmon Creek Barn Wedding, VA

It seems it wasn’t too long ago that I took Ashley and Jon’s engagement pictures and suddenly October and their big day was here. Their venue, Persimmon Creek Barn, a beautiful barn venue, was just perfect for their wonderful celebration. Due to a rainy day their original plans to hold the ceremony outside had to get changed in the last moment. Nevertheless, their attention to detail, planning, and gorgeous decorations made their whole day amazing. All decorations were put together and made by the bride with the help of the grooms mother Stephanie, brides mother Mary, matron of honor Heather, and the bridesmaid Hannah.

While Ashley got ready in the bridal suite surrounded by her mom, matron of honor, bridesmaid, and cousins,  Jon and his guys were spending the morning just on the other side of the barn in the cutest little cabin. Right before the ceremony Ashley’s dad got to see her for the first time as a bride. What a sweet moment between father and daughter! They also had the best father-daughter dance I’ve seen in a long time.

Their beautiful ceremony included a wine box ceremony. Their plan is to include letters to each other in that box that they can add to year after year on their anniversary.

Their family and friends definitely showed lots of fun and energy during the reception. Besides lots of dancing Jon and Ashley played the popular shoe game! Their wedding day finale was a beautiful flower petal exit!

I wish them a lifetime of happiness and I’m so happy I was able to celebrate and capture their day with them, especially during this challening year of 2020.
